5/28/2023 0 Comments Cormier robert the chocolate warI find myself liking Jerry so much in this book since he tries hard to defend his rights, even if the other students do not believe in him and I love the idea that people will try to defend themselves when they believe that the activities set for them are not right for them. Jerry Renault plays the underdog hero in this book as he tries to defend his stance in not selling the chocolates since he believes everyone has the right to do what you think is right and as it happens to every hero, he goes through so much hardship and danger when he defies the rules of Trinity. The true highlights of this book were the characters themselves as they are realistic in personalities that you would normally see at any high school. Robert Cormier has certainly done an excellent job at making this book extremely disturbing and dark as he cleverly builds up tension around Jerry Renault’s defiance against selling the chocolates at the chocolate sale. But then, when I got around to reading this book, I realized that this book was all about the cruelties of the world such as manipulating various students into selling chocolates, even if you do not want to sell the chocolates and the consequences if you step out of line from the rest of the student body. Oh my goodness! When I first heard about this book, I thought it was simply going to be about a group of kids fighting over who should eat the chocolates.

5/27/2023 0 Comments Now i rise book
5/27/2023 0 Comments Courtney crumrin volume 1Everyone else in the series sure does though. Show More uncle, so far at least, does not really appear to be evil. Fans of Lemony Snicket, The Spiderwick Chronicles, Skulduggery Pleasant, Zorgamazoo, that whole vein. I highly recommend this series to kids (of all ages ) ) who like this sort of quirky fantasy/gothic horror trend that's happening right now in fiction. It's a little creepy sometimes because it's unexpected, but it's realistic and would promote discussion. The characters are good, but they aren't above being vindictive and conniving. I will warn that the characters are not paragons, and this is not a morality play. I love fantasy art in general, and this art adds humor to dark scenes and a sense of creepy to the funny scenes. The characters and dialoge are just off-beat enough to make everything seem shiny and new.Ĭ) It's a graphic novel with gorgeous, quirky, dark art that sets the mood and lets us create a little more of the story in our own heads while giving us something pretty to look at. This is the kind of story kids like.ī) It's funny, in a biting way. 5/27/2023 0 Comments Michael crichton sphere bookHe has published over a dozen scientific papers and holds four patents.
